Intruder Man

Animation Pre-production

As a member of the development team for Intruder Man — a short stop-motion animation directed by Peter Nelson — I designed and built sets, props, and custom camera equipment for the project. I was also involved in early concept generation and test animations.

The animation premiered at the 2017 Altered Esthetics Film Festival.

About

Intruder Man is the story of a woman from two distinct stages of her life. As a young home economics teacher, Jessie faces the wrath of an authoritarian superintendent who blacklists her from teaching for reasons unknown. As an elderly woman, Alzheimer’s disease makes Jessie paranoid of an “intruder man” who haunts her apartment. Slipping back and forth between these parallel periods, Jessie maintains strength and persistence in the face of sexism, loss, and dementia.
